Specialist Military Life Coaching
Transition Support

Service life changes who you are. Training, deployments, postings and constant transition shape your identity in ways that many people never fully understand. When it comes time to join, move, leave or rebuild, you deserve support from people who know that world from the inside.

ACSIS Life Coaching is known for deep, practical work with the armed forces community across the UK. We support people who are thinking about joining the armed forces, those in early service, reserves and part time service, those who are leaving, and those already living life after service, including military families.

Whether you wear the uniform now or once did, this page outlines how our specialist military life coaching and transition support can help you navigate every stage with more clarity, courage and connection.

Why ACSIS For Military Life Coaching

ACSIS life Coaching is veteran founded. Between us, we have served as enlisted, non commissioned and commissioned ranks in the British Army and Royal Navy, and we continue to work in high pressure public service roles. We know what it is like to live by the rhythm of orders, postings and operational demands, then step into a world that does not speak the same language.

We Speak Your Language

Rank, roles, postings and chain of command make sense to us. You do not need to explain the basics.

We Understand Transition

We have and are navigating our own journeys from service into civilian life and blended careers.

Confidential Space

Coaching is a private space. We are not part of your chain of command.

Family Support

Partners, parents and adult children who live with the ripple effects of service are welcome here.

Our job is to walk alongside you, not to judge the path you choose. Whether you stay, leave or blend both worlds, we help you make decisions that fit who you are and what matters most.

How 1 To 1 Coaching Works

1

Free 30 minute call

You tell us where you are in your service journey. Thinking of joining. Early service. Pre deployment. Leaving. Life after service. We listen, ask questions and suggest which coaching focus might help most.

2

Tailored Plan

Together we decide on a focus and a realistic time frame. That might be a short burst of coaching around a key decision, or a longer transition journey that follows you from planning to life on the other side.

3

Ongoing Support

We meet regularly online, and if you choose, you can use our AI supported tools between sessions to capture reflections, track actions and stay grounded as life shifts around you.

Early Service
Joining / Early

Joining The Armed Forces

The Starting Point

You feel the pull to serve. The kit, the challenge, the sense of purpose. It feels exciting, but also intimidating. People around you might not fully understand why you want to join, and recruitment messaging does not always answer the deeper questions about who you will become.

The Turning Point

At some point you realise this choice will shape your identity, relationships and future in ways you cannot fully see yet. You do not just want to sign on the dotted line. You want to be sure you are doing it for reasons that are yours, not just slogans or pressure.

The Journey

In coaching, you become the main character in your own story, not just another service number. We explore why you want to join, what you hope to gain and what you are afraid of losing. You get straight, lived experience insight into service life, without drama or sugar coating. Together we look at the impact on identity, family, lifestyle and long term options, so you can step forward with eyes open.

We focus on:

  • Clarifying your personal reasons for joining.

  • Understanding impact on identity & relationships.

  • Preparing mentally for training culture shock.

The Outcome

You make a clearer decision. If you join, you do it with a stronger sense of self and a toolkit that will support you from day one, rather than walking in on guesswork and hype.

Early Service Support

The Starting Point

You have arrived. New rules, new language, new expectations. You are trying to perform, fit in and not stand out for the wrong reasons. Inside you might feel homesick, overwhelmed, or like you are constantly one step behind.

The Turning Point

You notice that trying to just tough it out is wearing thin. Maybe your mood is dipping, your patience is short, or you are using unhelpful coping strategies to get through each day. You realise you need somewhere you can be honest without it affecting your career.

The Journey

Early service coaching gives you a confidential space outside the chain of command to make sense of everything. We decode the culture together and separate what is genuinely required from what is just noise. We look at how you can take care of yourself while still meeting the demands of training or early postings.

We focus on

  • Making sense of your role, rank and responsibilities in plain language.

  • Managing homesickness and changing friendships in a healthy way.

  • Building coping strategies that reduce burnout instead of feeding it.

  • Talking honestly about situations you cannot easily share with staff or family.

The Outcome

You feel less lost and less alone. You understand what is happening around you and inside you. You are better equipped to build a sustainable career instead of just surviving the next inspection.

Post Deploy
Pre / Post

Pre Deployment Prep

The Starting Point

Deployment orders are real. Briefings, kit lists, dates. There is pressure to be ready at work and stable at home. On the surface you stay focused. Underneath there may be a tangle of fear, excitement, guilt and unanswered questions.

The Turning Point

You realise that if you do not face these feelings now, they will come out sideways later. You want to leave knowing you have said what needed saying, and that you are as prepared as possible, practically and emotionally.

The Journey

Pre deployment coaching is about preparing the person, not just the packing list. We give you space to be honest without needing to perform toughness. Together we plan the conversations and systems that will support you and those around you while you are away.

We focus on

  • Exploring feelings about deployment without judgement or pressure.

  • Planning honest, grounding conversations with family and partners.

  • Putting communication and practical support systems in place.

  • Developing mindset tools you can use in high stress environments.

The Outcome

You head into deployment clearer, steadier and better connected. You know what you have put in place for yourself and for home, which reduces background noise and frees you to focus on the job.

Post Deployment Reset

The Starting Point

You are back. The world at home looks the same, but you do not feel the same. People want stories or a quick reassurance that you are fine. You may feel wired, flat, disconnected or angry, sometimes all in one day. Routine life can feel odd after the intensity of deployment.

The Turning Point

You notice that just trying to snap back to normal is not working. Sleep is off, reactions are sharper, and you might be drifting from the people you care about. You know you need a safe place to process, without being forced to relive every detail.

The Journey

Post deployment coaching is about helping you come home in stages. We focus on how deployment has affected you now, rather than demanding a full download. You get practical strategies for resetting your body, mind and relationships, at a pace that feels manageable.

We focus on

  • Talking through the impact of deployment without judgement.

  • Resetting routines for sleep, food, movement and connection.

  • Understanding and managing triggers and emotional swings.

  • Rebuilding a sense of normal that fits who you are now.

The Outcome

You do not erase deployment. You learn to carry it differently. Home life starts to feel more possible again. The gap between how you appear and how you feel inside begins to close.

Blended
Part time / Blended

Part Time Service And Reserves

The Starting Point

You are moving between service days, exercises or call outs and a civilian job or family life. Expectations clash. Calendars collide. You feel responsible to everyone and worry you are letting someone down, somewhere, most of the time.

The Turning Point

A missed moment at home, a strained conversation with a boss, or rising exhaustion makes it clear that juggling alone is not sustainable. You want to keep serving, but not at the cost of your health or relationships.

The Journey

Coaching for reserves and part time service helps you see the whole picture instead of firefighting from week to week. We map your commitments, energy and support, then design boundaries and rhythms that respect both your service and your life outside it.

We focus on

  • Mapping commitments across service, work, family and recovery.

  • Communicating clearly with employers, family and chain of command.

  • Setting realistic boundaries that protect time and energy.

  • Planning career options across both military and civilian paths.

The Outcome

You move from constant juggling to more deliberate choices. You know what you can take on and what you need to say no to. Service becomes a meaningful part of your life again, not a constant source of conflict.

Blended Military Careers

The Starting Point

Your career does not fit a neat box. Full time service, reserves, defence related roles, public service or other sectors. Your CV looks busy and important, but inside you might feel fragmented and permanently on duty.

The Turning Point

You realise that saying yes to every opportunity is stretching you thin. Identity feels scattered. You want your career to feel joined up and purposeful, not like multiple jobs stuck together.

The Journey

Blended career coaching helps you spot the through line in your story. Together we identify the values and strengths that run across your roles, then we use that clarity to design a career pattern that works for you rather than against you.

We focus on

  • Identifying how your strengths and values transfer between roles.

  • Spotting over commitment and patterns that lead to burnout.

  • Keeping a clear sense of identity as roles and titles change.

  • Building a long term plan that joins the dots instead of fragmenting you.

The Outcome

You feel more like one person with a coherent path, not several people living separate lives. Work choices become more intentional and your energy is used where it actually matters.

Life After
Leave / life After

Leaving Well

The Starting Point

Leaving starts as a quiet thought, then becomes a serious possibility. You may feel pulled between loyalty to your service, frustration with aspects of it, and curiosity about life beyond. The admin of leaving is one thing. The emotional reality is another.

The Turning Point

You realise this is not just a job change. It touches identity, community, housing, finances and family. The question shifts from “should I fill out the form” to “who will I be if I am not in uniform.”

The Journey

Leaving Well coaching supports you from the moment you start thinking about leaving through to your last day. We walk through the practical steps and the inner story in parallel. You get a place to talk through fears and hopes, plan conversations and design a transition that respects both your service and your future.

We focus on

  • Clarifying your reasons and timing for leaving in a way that feels right to you.

  • Mapping key milestones, finances, housing and practical tasks.

  • Preparing emotionally for loss of structure, status and community.

  • Planning conversations with chain of command, colleagues and family.

The Outcome

You leave on purpose, not by drift or crisis. You walk out with more clarity, steadiness and self respect, ready to build a new chapter instead of falling into the nearest option.

Life After Service

The Starting Point

The leaving date has passed. The uniform is away. People say congratulations. Inside you may feel relief, sadness, anger, freedom or emptiness, sometimes all in one week. Civilian life can feel both too slow and too chaotic.

The Turning Point

You notice that without the structure of service, days can blur or become overloaded. The old story of who you were does not fully fit, and the new story has not quite formed yet. You want more than just “getting by.”

The Journey

Life after service coaching focuses on helping you build a life that fits who you are now. We look at work, community, health, relationships and purpose as connected pieces. We do not try to recreate your service life or erase it. We help you integrate it and move forward.

We focus on

  • Designing daily and weekly rhythms that support your health and focus.

  • Exploring work, study or volunteering that fits your strengths and values.

  • Building new communities and connections without losing your roots.

  • Making sense of emotions that show up months or years after leaving.

The Outcome

You gain a clearer picture of your week before it starts. You know what must be done, what can wait and what can be dropped. You feel less frantic, more intentional and better able to protect time for rest, relationships and long term goals.

Veteran Identity
Rank / Veteran

From Rank To Role

The Starting Point

Your rank and role in uniform were clear. People knew what you were responsible for. In the civilian world, job descriptions feel vague and your experience can be hard to explain. You know you can lead, decide and deliver. You are just not sure how to show it on a CV or in an interview.

The Turning Point

A few unsuccessful applications or awkward interviews make it obvious that simply listing your rank and postings is not enough. You want employers to see what you bring without feeling like you are bragging or dumbing it down.

The Journey

From Rank To Role coaching is about translation. We walk through your service story and pull out concrete achievements, leadership moments and problem solving examples. Then we turn those into language and stories that make sense to civilian employers without losing their weight.

We focus on

  • Turning deployments, postings and appointments into clear outcomes.

  • Translating rank and responsibility into civilian friendly language.

  • Practising interviews and networking so you speak with confidence.

  • Telling your story honestly, without downplaying or overselling it.

The Outcome

You see your own value more clearly and can communicate it without feeling fake. Employers understand what you can do and why it matters, which opens more aligned opportunities.

Veteran Identity Support

The Starting Point

You are out, but service is still with you. Sometimes it feels like a badge of honour. Other days it feels heavy, complicated or distant. You might not fully relate to public images of veterans, yet it is still a core part of who you are.

The Turning Point

You notice that parts of your service story still shape how you see yourself and others. Pride, guilt, grief, anger, loyalty. You are ready to look at this more closely, not to stay stuck in the past, but so it stops quietly running the show.

The Journey

Veteran identity coaching gives you a grounded space to explore what being a veteran means to you now. We honour the full mix of emotions without forcing a particular narrative. Together we work out how your service fits into the bigger story of your life and how you want it to influence your future.

We focus on

  • Exploring your relationship with your service story in a safe, honest way.

  • Working through guilt, grief, anger or pride without having to perform.

  • Building purpose and meaning in this stage of life, on your terms.

  • Integrating your veteran identity with other roles so you feel more whole.

The Outcome

You do not stop being a veteran. You become more at peace with what that means. Service becomes one vital thread in a larger, evolving story rather than the only definition of who you are.
